BIM Overview

BIM standards exist, but are not regulated by law, resulting in so many personal interpretations of it.

A lot of companies are guided in the wrong direction, focusing on software proficiency as a key part of BIM. Tools are important, purpose is essential.

Information is the key word in Building Information Modelling.

Communicating information is what defines the BIM workflow.

How to best tell the information, keep it, save it, and pick it up when the time comes to find it?

Having the end goal in mind is the answer. It will be realized when both people and tools are open for communication. Tools that are able to communicate among each other, not only in their enclosed bubble. We don't want monopoly in BIM. We want clarity.
